World of Sea Battle is an open-world sailing sandbox. There are no safe lanes and no rescue: what you carry can be taken. That makes the first hours about income, not combat.

Trade before you fight

Your first goal is a working trade loop. Buy where a good is cheap, sail to where it is expensive, sell, repeat. Write down two or three routes that work and run them until you can afford a real ship.

Do not carry your whole treasury as cargo. Sell often, bank often.

Learn the wind

Sailing here is directional. Running against the wind is slow enough to make you a target, and new players lose cargo simply because they took the straight line instead of the fast one. Watch the wind indicator and accept a longer route that keeps you moving.

Your first ship is not a warship

A cargo hull that survives is worth more than a gunship you cannot crew. Combat is expensive here: repairs, ammunition, crew wages. Reach a stable income first.

Avoid the obvious ambush points

Harbour approaches and narrow straits are where players wait. If a route feels crowded, it is. Take the longer approach, especially with a full hold.

Join a company

Player companies give protection, shared routes, and information about who is hunting where. Sailing alone with valuable cargo is the fastest way to lose an evening of work.

The mistake that costs the most

Upgrading the hull before the crew and the sails. A bigger ship that handles badly is just a slower, richer target.
